None of the chalets seemed to be occupied though there were plentiful supplies of logs for the fire. We turned right here. |
We wondered how deep the snow was here, Tom volunteers to find out. |
Sheltering under trees while we work out how much further we should go along this footpath. |
Pam and Kevin take the lead as we head back down the track. |
To prevent my camera from being damaged I had to keep putting it away between shots. When Pam slipped over here I frantically tried to get my camera out of it's case to record the incident but she'd scrambled back to her feet before I got the camera switched on. Damn!! Never mind though not everyone would be as quick as she was and I'd be prepared next time. |
i was quite taken by this chalet and tried several shots to get a Christmassy type photograph. |
........and finally this one. One of them may end up as a Christmas card next year. |
Tom on his feet smiling as he poses next to an image of a snowman... |
...and flat on his back with pained expression on his face after falling over. Please don't feel sorry for him, he's been practicing the same expression in the hope of sympathy for over 45 years that I know of!! |
View from the 'gondola' as we descend from Bidmi. Because of the snowfall we didn't see any really extensive views today. |
We changed ski lifts here (Reuti) and were looking to have a coffee somewhere, but because it was early in the season we didn't find anywhere open, so we carried on back down to Meiringen. We returned to a very welcoming bar/restaurant where we had earlier had lunch. Following coffee we called in at a shop where Pam bought cheeses, meringues and double cream which we took back home with us. Unlike Sherlock Holmes there was nothing fictional about the meringues floating in double cream. Gorgeous, a clogged artery in every mouthful - guaranteed. But you know the old saying," A little of what you fancy does you good". - and it certainly did. |
