The first walk was around Durham City 16th October 2008: An easy stroll around the riverbanks, Cathedral and
Market Place. A couple of miles maybe but who was counting? Not me I was enjoying the scenery.

Map: None, but city maps are available from the tourist information office in Millenium square.

Weather: A pleasant autumn day.

Photographer and copyright owner - Terry Smith 2008.

The Count's House after Józef Boruwlaski a Polish born dwarf. He lived in a cottage on the riverbanks (not actually in this
building) which was situated near here. He became well known and well liked in Durham and is buried just inside the north
door of the cathedral under a stone marked JB. He is credited as having written the words, "Poland was my cradle, England
is my nest, Durham is my quiet place, Where my weary bones shall rest".
Another photograph showing a reflection, this time it's Prebends bridge. This photograph has been given a sepia effect.
Gone fishing - and what a lovely peaceful spot to choose next to Prebends bridge.

Sundial at College Green. Is that the time already? Time I was stopping for a cup of tea. See you on
